We start our 3-day group tour from Marrakech to the desert early in Marrakech, heading for southern Morocco. We cross the impressive High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, enjoying spectacular mountain scenery and small Berber villages along the way.
On the way we make a special stop at an argan cooperative run by Berber women, where you can see up close how different products are traditionally made from the argan fruit. A visit that reveals an important part of the culture and daily life of the local communities.
We continue our journey to Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most iconic places in southern Morocco. We walk through its old streets and discover this impressive earthen ksar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We then continue to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert, and on through the spectacular Valley of Roses.
Here we will have the chance to see some of the traditional products made from roses, find out how they are prepared and learn about the importance of this flower for the economy and culture of the region.
At the end of the day we stay in the Valley of Roses or Tinghir, with dinner and breakfast.
After breakfast we continue our route east, heading deeper into the landscapes of southern Morocco.
Our next stop is the impressive Todra Gorge, huge rock walls that form one of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the region.
We continue through traditional villages, palm groves and desert landscapes until we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the great dunes of Erg Chebbi.
In the afternoon one of the most awaited experiences of the trip begins: our entry into the Sahara desert.
We ride camels into the dunes while watching the sun set over Erg Chebbi. We then reach the camp, where we enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music and a night under the amazing desert sky.
We wake up early for breakfast at the camp and get ready for one of the most special moments of the trip.
Then we ride back to the village by camel, crossing the dunes as we watch the sun rise over the Sahara horizon.
Once we reach the village of Merzouga, our driver will be waiting for us to continue the journey back to Marrakech.
On the way we can once again enjoy the landscapes of southern Morocco until we finally reach Marrakech, where our desert adventure ends.
